The former oil minister also said regarding the Babak Zanjani case: "With the start of sanctions against the National Iranian Oil Company, because we did not have the infrastructure for the private sector to sell oil, based on the resolution of the Supreme National Security Council, people turned to the National Iranian Oil Company to buy oil, and Babak Zanjani was one of them." He added: "The LC pledged by Babak Zanjani was related to a bank established abroad, which at that time was 60 percent owned by one of our country's major banks, but before the maturity date, Babak Zanjani bought the entire bank and therefore became the owner of both the bank and the LC." He added: "Upon learning of these events, we immediately banned him from leaving, and simultaneously with judicial measures, we put on the agenda expert work to identify his assets, which is at least one meter high, and more than 25 official trials have been held so far, and his case is also in the hands of the Ministry of Intelligence of the current government." Ghasemi added: "The judiciary bravely entered this case, and fortunately, none of the oil industry employees were involved in this case and are not, and no charges have been brought against them."
