The crypto market saw a significant surge after US President Donald Trump announced that he would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 31 at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Seoul, South Korea.
The meeting, which comes after trade tensions between the two countries eased, is seen as a positive driver for cryptocurrency prices. Trump said in an interview with Fox News that the goal of the meeting would be to reach a fair deal with China.
Previously, the threat of new tariffs on Chinese goods caused a sharp drop in the crypto market and the loss of value of some altcoins.
However, it seems that this meeting could help restore calm and re-start price growth in the crypto market.
Following the news,
Bitcoin’s price rose about 3%, returning to above $110,000. Other cryptocurrencies have also seen similar gains, with the total crypto market cap rising to $3.75 trillion.
